I’ve been trying to figure out where this installation by Faycal Baghriche is, to no avail.

I’ve been trying to find out that too, I thought it might have been the US or Northen Africa, judging by the colour … maybe Jordan? No idea, I’m just guessing. I would love to know more about it’s construction too. The Kaaba looks concrete but the rest is kinda cardboardish. If you do manage to find more information please drop me a line!

It‘s not an installation by Faycal Baghriche but part of the CLA-Studios in Ouarzazate/Maroc. The site of the Kaaba was constructed for a 2-minutes-shooting in the movie „Journey to Mecca“ (2009) telling the life and travel of Ibn Batuta. You can visit the site when you are at the CLA-studios. I was there some years ago and we did several shootings (for more infomation you may mail me on c.donau@hotmail.com). Best Claus
